Community Advisory Board

Community Advisory Board

ASPiRE researchers work in partnership with a Community Advisory Board (CAB) comprising tobacco control program staff from 30 large U.S. cities, representatives from several tobacco control organizations and agencies, and legal experts. ASPiRE’s CAB partners help us close the gap between research and practice by providing important input about their changing needs for evidence.

Maggie Mahoney

Maggie Mahoney, JD, public health policy advisor, serves as our CAB chair.

Our 30 Cities

One in six US adults lives in one of the 30 ASPiRE Community Advisory Board (CAB) cities. The cities vary with respect to state/local tobacco control policies and region. Click on a city to download that city’s Tobacco Retailer Density Fact Sheet and to see Smoking Prevalence, Tobacco Retailer Density, and Poverty statistics. Research has found links between smoking, retailer density and income. Explore and compare different cities and see how the three statistics are related.

View and download the Tobacco Retailer Density Fact Sheets, the related Tobacco Swamps Maps, and the Tobacco Sales Fact Sheets for all 30 cities.
